Pain means stop!

Guest Post : Dynami-Strength

The fitness industry motto of “No Pain No Gain” is a training lie.

It should go without saying that in the presence of pain it is advisable to consult with a medical practitioner.

Moving into pain changes everything. It shuts down the nervous system, results in compensations and poor movement patterning and may cause or exacerbate an injury.

Pain also means real hurt, do not confuse pain with the effort required to complete a task or the feeling of being uncomfortable due to the challenge you are trying to overcome.

But do not try and train through pain – it does not make you a champion.

Focus on doing what you can - move where you can, but within your limitations, never into pain. Focus on becoming a little bit better than you were before.

More is not better it is just more.
